Qorvis Communications joined with the Embassy of Cyrus to help promote a first-of-its-kind exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History: “Cyprus: Crossroads of Civilizations.” The stunning exhibit featured more than 200 artifacts—covering nearly 11,000 years of history— and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
A key element of our work for the exhibit was joining with the Smithsonian to generate national press coverage. We engaged on all media outreach avenues including drafting press releases, holding a press preview and inviting media to the opening night. We also utilized extensive contacts to ensure local and national coverage.
As a result of Qorvis' efforts, features on the exhibit were placed in a number of tier-one and regional media outlets including The Washington Post, National Geographic, Traveler, The Kansas City Star, Bloomberg, San Francisco Chronicle and Roll Call. The exhibit was even included in The Washington Post Express’ top things to do that week.
