Repositioning an iconic automotive brand for modern consumers
In 2009, AAMCO — the world’s largest chain of transmission specialists and a leader in total car care — engaged Qorvis as Agency of Record to oversee nationwide research, advertising, interactive marketing, and public relations.
The brand needed renewed relevance in a competitive, fragmented automotive services market. Consumer trust, local ownership credibility, and message clarity were central to restoring growth.
Qorvis began with nationwide market research to assess advertising reach, brand perception, and performance across key consumer segments.
Based on these insights, we developed refreshed messaging positioning AAMCO as the locally owned and operated, qualified car repair specialist customers know and trust. The engagement included a logo refresh and the expansion of AAMCO’s digital presence through the launch of its YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter (X) feed, establishing direct-to-consumer communication channels.
Qorvis also developed and produced the “We Hear You” campaign, which aired in select markets and reinforced the brand’s customer-focused positioning. The campaign became one of the most successful in company history, contributing to a 15% increase in sales in participating markets.
Over more than 15 years of working together, Qorvis-led campaigns for AAMCO have earned industry recognition, including Gold and Silver ADDY Awards and a Hermes Award.
