RON’S COMMENT: Today’s average is based on four polls, ranging from 40% (Quinnipiac) to 49% (Rasmussen). Without these extremes, it would still be 44%.... President Trump’s disapproval rating averages 53% today (same as yesterday), which is 9 points higher than his approval rating.

RON’S COMMENT: This poll of college students includes Republican and Democratic candidates. It shows Sanders is the top choice with Trump running second. Another way to look at it is Trump and other Republicans (not listed) get a total of 19% and the Democrats, combined, get 77%.... Over the past two months in this poll, Sanders is up 7 points, Warren is down 4 points, Biden is down a point and Buttigieg is up 2 points.

RON’S COMMENT: While these national leaders are generally popular among their party’s voters and very unpopular among the opposing party’s voters, let’s look at how they’re doing among independents, who are most likely to be swing voters in the next election: Trump 38%/47%, Pence 37%/32%, Pelosi 24%/46%, Schumer 20%/41%, McCarthy 18%/28%, McConnell 23%/ 39%.

RON’S COMMENT: Not much movement over the past two months: Healthcare is the same, the economy is up 1, immigration is the same and the environment is down 2. The latest poll continues to show big differences by party:
- The top three issues for Democrats are healthcare (25%), the environment (20%) and Social Security (11%).
- The top three issues for Republicans are the economy (22%), immigration (22%) and Social Security (12%).
- The top three issues for independents are healthcare (19%), the economy (14%) and Social Security (12%).
- Only Social Security made all three of the top three lists.
