Marca País - Imagen de Mexico

MexicoToday.org is a next-generation website created by Qorvis Communications in support of Marca País – Imagen de México. Qorvis presented the idea of an external branding initiative focusing on digital and social media to change the perceptions held by Americans and Europeans about Mexico. Mexico is a modern, G-20 nation with centuries of history and ruins of ancient cultures. There are beautiful beaches and stunning natural beauty -- all supported by the second-best economy in Latin America, behind only Brazil. With this in mind, Marca País – Imagen de México wanted to implement a digital campaign that focuses on four main themes: economy, sustainability, infrastructure and culture.

MexicoToday.org shows the best of this country, expanding the horizons of those whose perceptions only extend to within 50 miles of the border. MexicoToday.org is an initiative to help promote a positive image of Mexico, a leading-edge portal to keep audiences from around the world informed about the latest on the Mexican economy, tourism, culture and environment, as well as Mexican and World news. The user-friendly website is alive with videos, photos and easy-to-read stories that allow the online user to enjoy content according to their preferences and interests. All content is color-coded for ease of screening by topic of interest. The website also encourages online users to create their own user profiles for personalization; then the portal’s intelligent design identifies related stories online that will interest these users, based on their most recent views and search activity.

The MexicoToday.org website is part of an online communications platform that also engages international audiences through its different social media channels, including Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Flickr.

Our work on the MexicoToday.org website brought Qorvis one Gold award and three Silver awards for the Best Overall Online Camapign in the 2012 Washington, D.C., ADDY competition.
