Laura Wooster Baldwin is a strategic communications professional who has worked primarily in the technology industry for nearly 15 years, helping organizations to influence positive perceptions across key audiences and promoting actions to support strategic goals. Baldwin has extensive experience in media and analyst relations, branding and messaging, customer and member programs, and global marketing. She has represented organizations ranging from Microsoft and HP to the U.S. Department of Defense, and has worked internally at smaller technology providers such as AMS and Cybertrust.

Baldwin joined Qorvis in 2007. She leads accounts that incorporate a variety of communications activities to increase their brand recognition, visibility and awareness in the press and across other critical audiences. She has led public affairs accounts that utilized media, messaging and grassroots to influence action at the FCC and on the Hill; she has engaged consumers through social media to promote advertising campaigns and mobile applications that resulted in an increase of client sales; and has supported client PR efforts with websites that promoted client brand launches, campaigns and competitive acquisitions. Baldwin’s clients have included AAMCO, the American Cable Association (ACA), Blackboard, The Concord Coalition, Ericsson Federal, Feeva, Serco and Sprint.

Before joining Qorvis, Baldwin was director of global public relations for global information security specialist Cybertrust, where she was responsible for worldwide press and analyst relations, as well as global customer reference programs. At Cybertrust, Baldwin developed the organization’s first global PR and AR programs; contributed to the creation and launch of a new corporate brand, messaging and identity; and restructured the global PR organization to align with corporate goals and to drive quality coverage supporting the Cybertrust brand.

On the corporate side, Baldwin also served internal communications roles at AMS and Appian. As a communications consultant at Hill & Knowlton and IBM Global Services, she drove strategic communications campaigns for clients including the U.S. Department of Defense, HP and a variety of smaller technology organizations. In these roles she refined her communications skills in strategic counseling and program development, media and analyst relations, messaging, executive visibility, internal communications, competitive intelligence and philanthropic outreach.
Baldwin began her technology public relations career on the Microsoft account at Waggener Edstrom, where she devel

oped extensive media relations skills as well as consumer and business-to-business product launch expertise. She participated in major national campaigns including the launches of Windows XP, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), and Windows 2000.

Education

Baldwin graduated cum laude from the George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.
