Laura Baldwin is a strategic communications professional who has worked almost exclusively in the technology industry for more than 10 years, helping organizations to influence positive perceptions across key audiences and to promote actions that support strategic goals. Baldwin has extensive experience in media relations, branding and messaging, customer and member programs as well as global marketing, having represented companies ranging from Microsoft, HP and the U.S. Department of Defense to working internally at smaller technology providers such as AMS and Cybertrust. Joining Qorvis in 2007, Baldwin works with clients to increase their brand recognition, visibility and awareness in the press and other critical audiences.
Pertinent Background
- Before joining Qorvis, Baldwin was director of global public relations for global information security specialist Cybertrust, where she was responsible for worldwide press and analyst relations, as well as global customer reference programs. At Cybertrust, Baldwin developed the organization’s first global PR and AR programs; contributed to creation and launch of new corporate brand, messaging and identity; and restructured the global PR organization to align with corporate goals and to drive quality coverage supporting Cybertrust brand.
- On the corporate side, Baldwin also worked for AMS and most recently led strategic communications, media relations, analyst relations, corporate messaging and positioning, and customer reference programs for Appian.
- As a communications consultant at Hill & Knowlton and IBM Global Services, Baldwin drove strategic communications campaigns for clients including the U.S. Department of Defense, HP, AMS, and a variety of smaller technology organizations. In these roles she refined her communications skills in strategic counseling and program development, media and analyst relations, messaging, executive visibility, internal communications, competitive intelligence and philanthropic outreach.
- Baldwin began her technology public relations career on the Microsoft account at Waggener Edstrom, where she developed extensive media relations as well as consumer and business-to-business product launch expertise. She participated in major national campaigns including Windows XP, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), and Windows 2000.

Baldwin graduated cum laude from the George Washington University with a degree in political science.
