Gregory Lagana was formerly senior vice-president for communications and marketing at DynCorp International, a major services provider for the United States government. Previously, he spent four years in the White House as a member of the Coalition Information Center staff and then as associate director of the Office of Global Communications.
For more than two decades, Lagana served in the U.S. Foreign Service in public diplomacy, public affairs, political and administrative positions with the United States Information Agency (USIA) and the Department of State. In his Foreign Service career, he had overseas assignments in Spain, El Salvador, Ecuador and Italy. In Washington, he headed press and public affairs for the Western hemisphere at the Department of State and directed training at USIA.
Before joining the foreign service, he edited the alumni magazine and directed the annual alumni giving fund for Lambda chi Alpha Fraternity and served as an assistant dean of men at the University of Southern California.
Lagana has written for three U.S presidents and two cabinet secretaries. He is a skilled writer of speeches, essays, executive communications and marketing materials. He also is highly experienced in crisis communications, intercultural communications and media relations He received five major awards for effectiveness in his Foreign Service career, including an agency-wide award for excellence in writing in support of public diplomacy. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian.
