"The [Qorvis] team, being highly creative and forward-thinking, was able to take the concept of “We Are” and construct a website that generates the overall feeling, emotion, and tone of the Center. Their use of color, images, multimedia, and flash produced a site that draws users in to learn more, while highlighting Latino heritage and culture in our country. With these critical aspects, along with an amazing design and concept thought process, the Qorvis team has created a site I am proud to stand by, and expand upon.”
The Smithsonian Latino Center asked Qorvis to redesign its website in order to attract more users and improve the appearance and functionality of the site. The Center facilitates the development of exhibitions, research, collections and educational programs at the Smithsonian and its affiliated organizations. Its primary mission is to draw attention to the Latino heritage and culture.
The Qorvis team worked closely with Center staff to create
an engaging, bilingual, content-rich site which functions
as the hub for Latino resources across the institutions,
as well as a premier cultural portal. Since the new
website launched in August 2006, web traffic has
increased by 300%. The email database and donations
have increased as well. The website received
outstanding feedback, including features in many
Latino
publications.
