Pratt & Whitney Revolutionizes Aviation Industry

In 2006, Pratt & Whitney (a United Technologies company) launched an unprecedented new business in the aviation industry.  Through Global Material Solutions, the company became the first jet engine manufacturer to reengineer and build parts for a competitor’s engine. 

Qorvis was engaged to coordinate an effective global launch and communications program with multiple internal and external channels – from initial branding and materials to outreach to the media, customers and employees.  Launch coverage included the front pages of The Wall Street Journal and The Wall Street Journal Europe, all of the wire services and the major trade publications.  Target audiences tested after the launch gauged a more than 75% positive response on the impact of this initiative on the industry.  Subsequently, Qorvis was named agency of record to both Pratt & Whitney and its parent company United Technologies.
