- Lisa Bushey Joins Qorvis As Managing Director - Washington, D.C. – Qorvis Communications, one of the largest independent communications firms in the U.S., announced today that Lisa Bushey has joined the firm as a managing director. WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 20, 2008 – Qorvis Communications, one of the largest and fastest growing independent communications firms in the United States, hosted an August 19th webinar, “iPhone & New Media Trends,” with Peter Barkely, Director of Mobile Services at washingtonpost.com, and Tim Karr, Campaign Director at Free Press. Barkely discussed the development of the washingtonpost.com’s new, on-the-go iPhone application for the newspaper’s “City Guide,” and Karr explained how New Media strategies can improve organizations’ external communications. - Republicans want John McCain to pick a strong conservative to be his vice presidential running mate and Democrats want Barack Obama to pick someone with economic or military and foreign policy experience, according to a new nationwide poll conducted by Clarus Research Group, a nonpartisan survey firm based in Washington, DC Most rank-and-file Republicans want McCain to pick a running mate based on a commitment to conservative ideology,” said Ron Faucheux, President of Clarus Research Group. “Most GOP voters would prefer a conservative executive-type over a moderate legislative-type to be their vice presidential nominee. Republican voters seem to want to balance what they see as McCain’s own weaknesses with a running mate who supplies compensating strengths.

- Tom Reynolds Joins Qorvis – May 13, 2008, Qorvis Communications, a leading independent communications firm, announced today that Tom Reynolds, who most recently served as the national press secretary for presidential candidate and New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, has joined the firm as a Director.
- On April 22, 2008, Qorvis announced that Sol Levine, former CNN, NBC News and ABC News producer, has joined the firm as Senior Director. Levine served as Executive Producer for CNN’s White House Coverage and CNN’s global news program WorldView. He also produced news stories for NBC Nightly News and NBC’s The Today Show, as well as on-air and online news programming at ABC News. He will provide Qorvis clients media strategy council, media training and media relations consultation.
- Qorvis announced today a series of 14 new hires in recent months to complement new business growth. In addition, on March 10, the public relations ranking publisher O’Dwyer Company moved Qorvis up on its Top-10 independent public relations firms list to the sixth spot, reflecting the more than 20 percent growth Qorvis experienced in 2007. Major new clients in 2007 included Keep America Beautiful, the Virginia Lottery, the Digital Media Association, VisualCV and MedImmune. In 2008, Qorvis has won several contracts including the American Cable Association, Wireless Innovation Alliance and Career College Association.
