CHUCK CONCONI JOINS QORVIS COMMUNICATIONS
Veteran DC journalist brings extensive TV, radio and print experience to growing communications agency
Washington, DC—Nov. 29, 2005—With more than 40 years experience in television, radio and print journalism, veteran journalist Chuck Conconi has joined Qorvis Communications as senior counselor, announced managing partner Michael Petruzzello today.
Conconi comes to Qorvis from The Washingtonian, where he worked for 14 years as editor-at-large. He will offer Qorvis clients strategic counsel in corporate reputation, crisis management and media training, as well as focus on the agency’s new business and corporate communications strategies.
“One of the most valuable assets a PR team can have is a great journalist, and Chuck is that, plus so much more,” Petruzzello said. “Few people know Washington as well as Chuck does. He’ll prove to be a real asset to Qorvis clients, bringing incomparable knowledge and experience in media, journalism and crisis to the table. We are thrilled to have him join our team.”
Prior to his tenure at The Washingtonian, Conconi served 13 years at the Washington Post. Throughout his career, Conconi has appeared as co-host and/or commentator on countless TV and radio news shows, including Crossfire, P.M. Magazine, Nightline with Ted Koppel, Nightwatch, The Larry King Show, Geraldo, Hard Copy and NBC Evening News.
“I’m excited to lend my experience and knowledge to a new arena, and see how the symbiotic relationship between journalism and PR works from the other end,” Conconi said. “Qorvis has a great reputation here in Washington, and I hold a high regard for good PR professionals. I think we’ll make a great fit.”
Conconi is the author of two books, The Energy Balloon, written with former Kennedy/Johnson Interior Secretary Stewart Udall and energy expert David Osterhout, and The Washington Sting, written with the late Supreme Court press spokeswoman Toni House.
