FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
QORVIS WINS THREE LOCAL ADDY AWARDS
Firm Recognized for Creative Excellence by The Ad Club of Metropolitan Washington
and The American Advertising Federation
Washington, DC – April 11, 2005 - Qorvis Communications, a privately held public relations firm, announced today it nearly swept the interactive portion of this year's local ADDY Awards competition, receiving first place in three categories and advancing to the regional ADDY's this spring. The ADDY Awards are the largest and one of the most highly respected and competitive advertising competitions in the world.
Qorvis won in three categories, including:
Best Flash-based Web Site (Business-to-Business) for Qorvis Communications' own Web site at www.qorvis.com
Best Flash-based Web Site (Business-to-Consumer) for Miller and Smith Homes at www.millerandsmith.com
Best Micro-site for Symphony Branding, at www.symphonybranding.com (won in partnership with Sparky's Garage—a creative agency based in Leesburg, Va.)
"Being recognized by the ADDY Awards and the advertising industry as a whole is an extraordinary honor, especially to a growing independent PR agency like ours," said Doug Poretz, a partner and co-founder of Qorvis. "We believe great communications requires great creative, and these awards validate our ability to deliver winning campaigns for our clients."
The ADDY's are the first creative awards given to the five-year-old public relations agency, which has recently expanded its creative service capabilities. The three winning submissions were all created under the supervision of Jason Siegel, director of creative services, who joined Qorvis in 2004.
In addition to the ADDY winners, Qorvis provides creative services to such clients as Star Systems, The National Association of Home Builders, American Sociological Association, Hyde Schools and Bozzuto Homes.
The winning sites now advance to one of 14 regional competitions, whose winners will then go on to compete in the National/International ADDY finals this summer.
