FORMER WEEKLY STANDARD DEPUTY PUBLISHER JOINS QORVIS  

Washington , DC , May 13, 2003 – Qorvis Communications, LLC today announced that David Bass, the deputy publisher of The Weekly Standard, has joined the firm as a managing director.  Bass spent the past six years at The Weekly Standard, where the publication enjoyed meteoric ascension in the press as well as within the national public affairs community.  Bass brings a total of 14 years of media experience to Qorvis. 

Bass' media tenure included stints at The Washington Times, National Journal and Campaigns & Elections, where his work included the magazine as well as its grass roots and political training arm, The Hill.  In various publishing capacities, his work has included marketing, public relations, business development, strategic planning, media strategy and occasional editorial contributions.

In addition to his experience in the media and Capitol Hill, Bass served in the office of international affairs at the American Trucking Association.  Bass performed his undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Richmond, Old Dominion University and Syracuse University.  He is an elected member of the Republican Central Committee.
