Production Assistant

Summary
Qorvis Communications, one of the largest and fastest growing independent communications firms in the country, seeks a production assistant to support growth in our media training and interactive service areas.  The ideal candidate will have 1 – 3 years or more of relevant experience.  In addition to assisting with audio/video production, the candidate will support general client work. 

The ideal candidate will be capable of operating DV, Mini-DV, Beta and HD cameras as well as running Live sound for events, interviews, commentaries (familiarity and trouble shooting w/ lavaliere, boom, and hand held microphone systems, wired and wireless).  He/she should have experience shooting broadcast quality B roll, be familiar with studio lighting, and be able to troubleshoot issues with filming.  The candidate will also be capable of explaining issues that arise and video production/post production procedures to clients in an articulate way without using industry jargon.

Representative Responsibilities and Skills

  • Familiarity with post-production software, including Final Cut Pro
  • DV, Mini-DV, Beta and HD camera experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting issues with filming, modifying or changing scripts, or adding additional aspects to the filming to enhance the production
  • Familiar with studio lights, filters and lenses for on-air lighting
  • Experience with projectors, monitors, LCD’s and sound for presentations and video playback, as well as highly skilled with PowerPoint, A/V insertion and troubleshooting
  • Works to learn basic practice skills (public relations, grassroots, public affairs)
  • Works to acquire account management skills such as reporting and plan development 
  • Focuses on tactical execution including media monitoring, media outreach, research, development of communications materials, and reporting.
  • Assists in executing client projects, arranging and coordinating daily account activities
  • Shows initiative in taking on new tasks and projects
  • Actively seeks and offers assistance to others; able to seek out information, solutions to problems and other relevant opportunities
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
