Seth Thomas Pietras joined Qorvis Communications in 2004. He oversees and provides communications strategies and media relations to several clients, including Qorvis itself, and helps manage new business efforts. In addition, Pietras runs QED, Qorvis’ internal editorial consultancy, for which he is the lead editor and chief speechwriter.
Pietras also works on the campaign for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, creating and coordinating editorial content and message development.
Prior to joining Qorvis, Pietras served as an officer and board member at Foreign Reports, Inc., a consulting firm which analyzes political developments highly relevant to oil markets, crude oil price formation and related macro-economic variables.
Pertinent Background & Relationships
- In November 2006, Pietras launched QED, Qorvis’ internal editorial consultancy, which focuses on improving the level of writing produced by Qorvis for the company and its clients. QED takes advantage of Qorvis’ no-silo approach to draw on the firm’s broad writing talent to improve quality across the board.
- As a part of QED, Pietras oversees new business proposal development, assisting in writing and strategy development, and the creation of the company’s marketing materials.
- As chief speechwriter at Qorvis, Pietras has worked with top executives at Fortune 500 companies, the heads of prominent international organizations and various government officials.
- As a result of his pro bono work for environmental non-profits, Pietras has developed extensive experience advising organizations on developing “green” strategies and successfully engaging new media. He has helped develop environmental statements for major corporations, including Quiksilver, Inc.
- Pietras was the News Editor for two publications at F-D-C Reports, a subsidiary of Elsevier Health Sciences. In this role, he reported on the international regulatory and finance issues facing the med-tech and bio-tech industries.
Education
Seth graduated cum laude from Williams College after completing a B.A. in modern political history.
