Kelley McCormick has more than 15 years of public relations agency experience, and was recently named a partner of Qorvis Communications.  She joined Qorvis as a managing director in 2002 from Weber Shandwick/Powell Tate.  Her areas of expertise include consumer marketing, corporate affairs and reputation management.  

While at Qorvis she has introduced a new bank to the Washington metropolitan area and promoted live entertainment events such as Disney on Ice and Ringling Bros. circus.  She manages a global corporate communications campaign for Beal Global Spirits & Wine, including a large corporate social responsibility program focused on reducing underage drinking, over consumption and drunk driving.  McCormick also oversees two pro bono accounts including YouthAIDS, an international program designed to educate youth about HIV/AIDS prevention and Earth Conservation Corps, a DC-based group geared to achieve environmental improvements and economic stability in Anacostia.

Pertinent Background & Relationships

  • At Weber Shandwick/Powell Tate, McCormick served as one of the primary account directors for the Eastman Kodak Company, managing a number of award-winning campaigns that helped position “Big Yellow” as a digital powerhouse by focusing on the strength of the 100-year old brand and its innovative picture technologies.
  • She also helped raise visibility for the Paramount Pictures film about nuclear terrorism, “The Sum of All Fears,” by stimulating discussion of the film’s plot among the non-entertainment press and with public policy experts.
  • Developed and implemented a strategic positioning campaign for one of the largest Internet portals.
  • Prior to Powell Tate, McCormick worked at Ketchum Public Relations’ Washington, DC office where she implemented campaigns for clients such as MCI, Wendy’s, Lederle-Praxis, Coca-Cola Company, Mobil Oil Corporation and the Dow Chemical Company.

Education

McCormick graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Journalism.
