David Harvey joined Qorvis Communications as a managing director from the law firm of WilmerHale where he was a senior business development professional.  He brings more than 15 years of marketing and business development experience, and leads marketing and business development efforts for Qorvis as its chief marketing officer.

Pertinent Background & Relationships

  • Harvey’s experience includes six years of legal marketing and business developments with two of the world’s largest international law firms: Morgan Lewis and WilmerHale.  He played a major role in organizing the marketing department for WilmerHale following the merger of Wilmer Cutler Pickering and Hale and Dorr in 2003.
  • At WilmerHale, he was responsible for the implementation of a number of firmwide initiatives, including launching a key client program and client feedback initiative.
  • As an economic development official, Harvey played a major role in transforming Fairfax County into a major center for venture capital activity.
  • Active in local networking events and organizations, Harvey serves in the advisory boards of the Reston Chamber incubator program and the Business Alliance of George Mason University.  He is active in the Northern Virginia Technology Council, the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, and the DC Technology Council.
  • Harvey is a frequent speaker on business development and marketing issues, including participating in the “Best Practices in Business Development” panel at the Marketing Partner Forum, a national conference organized by the Hildebrant Institute.

Education

Harvey graduated from James Madison University with a B.B.A. degree and earned a masters degree in Public Policy from George Mason University.
